Saint-Laurent is one of Quebec’s (and Canada’s) most ethnically mixed areas, with some 166 ethnicities said to live there. The population is 45.4 percent that of non-Canadian born families.

Saint-Laurent is the second-largest employment hub within the metropolitan region, after downtown Montréal.
